Notice of Prepaid Card GAICA Service Termination

- Thank you very much for your continued support of prepaid card GAICA.We regret to inform you that we have decided to stop providing all prepaid card GAICA services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding. Please read the following information to understand the procedures and notes associated with the service termination. Please be sure to read this information as it is very important.
All dates and times below are in Japan Standard Time (JST).
Cards Subject to Service Termination
Prepaid card GAICA (“GAICA")
- This card is used by customers who do not have an SBI Shinsei Bank account "General Account PowerFlex".
Prepaid card GAICA (with Flex function) ("GAICA (Flex)")
- This card has a function linked to a SBI Shinsei Bank account "General Account PowerFlex". By linking to the account, this card can be used for various services such as loading from your foreign currency deposits.
Service Termination Schedule
Each service is scheduled to end on the date indicated. Any changes to the schedule will be announced by updating this page.

Refund of Load Balance
Please proceed with the refund of your balance .
There will be no refund fee (550 yen including tax per time) for both GAICA and GAICA Flex this time.

※For GAICA Flex members
From Friday, June 7, 2024 through Friday, June 14, 2024, we performed a process of refund to your SBI Shinsei Bank's PowerFlex account which is linked to your GAICA (Flex) account.
If you have balances but no refund to your bank account during the period, the refund has not been made due to a closed bank account or other reasons.
(We have already sent an email to the relevant customers.)
For a refund, please complete the refund form above in the same manner as GAICA.
Outline of Termination of Each Service
- ■Termination of Card Issuance Finished
- GAICA
- -New cards were issued until Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
- GAICA(Flex)
- -New cards were issued until Saturday, October 28, 2023.
-Renewal cards were issued until October 2023; Cards that expired in November 2023 or later will not be renewed.
- ■Termination of Load Acceptance Finished
- GAICA
As of Thursday, February 1,2024, we no longer accept deposits to the dedicated account via internet banking or ATM.
- GAICA(Flex)
- As of Wednesday, January 31, 2024, we no longer accept deposits from SBI Shinsei Bank “General Account PowerFlex”.
- ■Termination of Card Use Finished
- As of Monday, April 1, 2024, we have stopped accepting payments at Visa merchants in Japan and overseas,
withdrawals at ATMs overseas, and contactless payments. Please note that the card is no longer available for use, regardless of the expiration date on the front of the card.
- ■Termination of Dedicated Lost or Stolen Card Service Desk Finished
- As of Monday, April 1, 2024, the Lost or Stolen Card Service Desk has closed. If you have any inquiries on lost or stolen card, please contact us here.
- ■Card Disposal
- If there is no balance on the card and the card will not be used from now on, customers are requested to cut up their GAICA and GAICA (Flex) cards at their disposal.
Please cut the card into small pieces, especially in areas that may lead to personal identification (name, card number, expiration date, security code, signature panel, magnetic stripe, IC chip, etc.).
- ■Suspension of All Functions/Termination of Services Finished
- As of Saturday, June 1, 2024, All functions of GAICA and GAICA (Flex) have been suspended, and all services have been terminated.
The services of checking and saving credit card statements and deposit/withdrawal statements have ended on Saturday, June 29, 2024, the day the members-only website closes.
- ■Termination of GAICA Customer Support and After-Sales Inquiries Finished
- GAICA Customer Support has ended at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024.

Request upon Termination of Services
- ■Merchants and Transactions Where Prepaid Cards Are Not Accepted (such as subscriptions)
- Prepaid cards are not accepted for payment of monthly and recurring subscriptions even at Visa-accepted stores and online retailers worldwide. In the unlikely event that you are using the service, please cancel your subscription.
Examples: Utility charges (electricity, gas, water) / Telephone charges / Communication charges (Internet provider usage fees, satellite broadcasting and CATV viewing fees) / Newspaper subscriptions (including electronic editions) / Insurance fees / Distance learning course fees / Other various monthly membership fees, etc.
